The Oscars are this Sunday, February 26, on ABC and from now until that day guests can get up close and personal with a real Academy Award at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The Oscar® statuette is located at One Man’s Dream in the Studios.
Guests can walk the red carpet and have their photo taken with the statuette during regular park hours.

Sources have announced that DisneyNature’s latest documentary, Chimpanzee, which delighted audiences during its theatrical debut on Earth Day 2012, will be released as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack this August.
Chimpanzee follows the story of a young chimp named Oscar, whose family is confronted by a rival gang of chimpanzees. The film takes a glorious turn, however, when an unexpected ally steps in to help Oscar and his family.

A new featurette entitled See Chimpanzees, Save Chimpanzees is now available for Disneynature’s film Chimpanzee.
The film follows the story of young chimp Oscar and his family, and features incredible footage that will captivate theater-goers. The film takes a turn, however, when Oscar’s family is confronted by a gang of rival chimpanzees – and an unexpected ally steps in to help. Chimpanzee, directed by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield, will debut in theaters April 20, 2012.

Disney’s newest – and perhaps one of its prettiest – pirate celebrated a major career milestone recently.  Last Friday, Penelope Cruz, who will play swashbuckling Angelica in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean:  On Stranger Tides, received her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, honoring her many accomplishments as an actress. The ceremony took place in front of the El Capitan Theatre, and her co-star Johnny Depp in the upcoming Disney movie was there to support her. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Rob Marshall were also on hand to celebrate …

At the company’s annual shareholders meeting last week, Disney president and CEO Bob Iger told those in attendance that the studio is tinkering with the idea of bringing “Peter and the Starcatchers” -a prequel to “Peter Pan” – to the big screen.
Disney went as far as hiring a screenwriter to adapt the book of the same name, written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson in 2004, but Iger said that while they “considered making it a movie… we haven’t made a decision on that yet.”
