Minnie Mouse Receives a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Minnie Mouse has finally received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The star was in celebration of Minnie’s 90th anniversary and the ceremony was attended by Minnie, Mickey, Disney CEO Bob Iger, and the host of ABC’s American Idol Katy Perry.
Minnie’s first on-screen appearance was in Steamboat Willie alongside Mickey Mouse.
She has starred in more than 70 films throughout her career.
Minnie also meets guests daily in the Disney theme parks around the world, and is a fashion icon. Last weekend on National Polka Dot Day guests at Disney Springs …

Minnie Mouse, Mark Hamill, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and More to Receive Stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Several Disney stars are set to receive their own star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame!
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced that Disney stars including Minnie Mouse, Mark Hamill (Star Wars), and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Moana, Mary Poppins Returns) are among the stars who will be honored in 2018 with stars on Hollywood Boulevard.
Other stars who will be honored with stars next year include Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Jeff Goldblum (who is starring as the Grandmaster in Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok this fall), Shonda Rhimes, and Anthony Anderson (black-ish).

Muppets Get Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

In a ceremony held at 11:30 a.m. yesterday morning, Ms. Piggy, Kermit and the rest of the Muppets gang received their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Their star was placed on Hollywood Boulevard just outside the El Capitan Theatre.
During the ceremony, both Walt Disney Studios Chairman Rich Ross and Jim Henson Company CEO Lisa Henson were on hand to give speeches about this historic event.
The ceremony coincided with the release of the DVD and Blu-ray editions of the latest Muppets movie.

Disney Songwriter Robert Sherman Passes Away at 86

Disney songwriter Robert Sherman, who penned the well-known and beloved tunes like “It’s A Small World After All” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” has passed away at the age of 86.
Throughout his career, Sherman collected a wealth of prestigious awards, including two Academy Awards, a Grammy, and many nominations. In 1976, with his brother Richard Sherman (known together as The Sherman Brothers,) he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

John Lasseter to Get Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Disney/Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter will be getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The director of Toy Story and Cars will be honored during a special ceremony in front of the El Capitan Theatre November 1 at 11:30 a.m., where he will receive his star and become star number 2,453 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Currently, Lasseter is overseeing the creation of Cars Land, an addition to Disney’s California Adventure theme park set to debut next summer. He also directed this year’s Cars 2.

Songwriter Alan Menken Immortalized on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame

Flanked by actress Mandy Moore and characters from Disney’s “Tangled,” legendary composer Alan Menken received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame last Friday in a ceremony held near the historic El Capitan Theatre.
