The ‘Art of Frankenweenie’ Exhibit a Hit at Comic-Con

Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie exhibit at this year’s Comic-Con drew large crowds. The exhibit displayed various sets, props and other production items from the movie.

The exhibit was so popular it has been scheduled to travel worldwide to promote the movie. Stops will include:

  • Mexico City’s Plaza Universidad (July 27-August 7)
  • Toronto’s Fan Expo (August 23-26)
  • Disney California Adventure Park (September 14-November 5)
  • Madrid (September-October)
  • London (October)
  • Paris (October-November)
  • Tokyo (December)

In addition to the Frankenweenie exhibit, HGTV’s Electrifying Garden was very popular. In this part of the exhibit, the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter lawn was transformed into a 3,500 square-foot “Electrifying Garden”, a mock up of the New Holland Pet Cemetery – a key location in the film.

Frankenweenie tells the story of a young boy who loses his beloved dog, then uses all matter of science to bring him back to life. The stop-motion animated film directed by Tim Burton is scheduled to premiere on October 5.
