The Week in Disney News: Free Dining, Virtual 5K Races, and More!

The week started as many thought it would – with an announcement about free dining for select dates this fall at the Walt Disney World Resort. The free dining dates start August 23 and run through December 21 on certain weeks.

runDisney has announced a series of virtual 5K races to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The race series starts in just a couple of weeks and participants will receive finisher medals.

Anna and Elsa are leaving the Magic Kingdom’s Princess Fairytale Hall this summer to move to Epcot’s new Royal Sommerhus in the Norway pavilion.

Disney has reduced the price of the Disney After Hours event for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members. Those guests can no purchase a ticket for $79 (rather than $149). There are a few nights left for the event this month.

And finally, if you’re visiting Disney World this month there’s a great slate of special merchandise events planned.
