As the summer crowds wind down at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, 10 attractions will be closing for renovations.
The longest closures will be Indiana Jones Adventure, Casey Jr. Circus Train and Storybook Land Canal Boats. These closures begin Tuesday, and will be closed through fall. Indiana Jones Adventure will reopen December 7 after improvements are made to enhance lighting, paint and other effects. Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Jr. Circus Train will both reopen November 15 after undergoing routine safety enhancements.

If you’re a Disneyland Resort Annual Passholder, you’re in luck – you can have the opportunity to preview “The Art of Frankenweenie Exhibition” before it debuts at Disney’s California Adventure. There are two ways to preview the event, which are outlined below.

In April, we told you that Disney XD had ordered a new live-action comedy series Crash & Bernstein. Now, sources have announced that the series will premiere October 8, 2012 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
The show follows the story of Wyatt Bernstein (played by Cole Jensen) who is the only boy among three siblings. When his puppet Crash comes to life, he ends up with the brother he always wanted.

Disney’s newest Tinker Bell film Secret of the Wings will be screening at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre from August 31 to September 7.
In the film, Tinker Bell and her friends – including newcomer Periwinkle – venture into the Winter Woods, where Tink discovers an incredibly life-changing secret. In July, we told you about expansion plans for Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa. Now, further details have emerged regarding these plans.
In the Waikolohe Valley pool area, a new pool, splash zone and water play areas will be added to expand the family fun for resort guests. Additionally, the resort plans to extend the deck space so that the pools “infinity edge” will be overlooking the adjacent lagoon. For the first time in its history, the Disney Channel ranked as the #1 cable network in total day and total viewers for summer 2012.
The network raked in 1.95 million viewers, as well as the #1 network for kids 2-11 and tweens 9-14. Additionally, Jessie and Good Luck Charlie ranked as the number one and number two television across all demographics, while Phineas and Ferb and Gravity Falls took the top two spots for animated shows.

Disney-owned ABC have ordered a pilot for S.H.I.E.L.D., a Marvel-related television show that will be co-written by Avengers scribe Joss Whedon.
The new project is based on the long-running comic book series, created by Jack Kirby. Whedon will co-write the pilot along with his brother, Jed Whedon and his wife Maurissa Tancharoen. According to sources, production on the new live-action project will begin immediately.
Not much more is known about the project at this point, but we will keep you posted when more information becomes available.

Disney XD has collaborated with ESPN for a new series premiering on Disney XD next month.
Disney XD ESPN Sport Science will delve into the world of sports’ myths and mysteries, and will feature segments from ESPN’s popular show Sport Science. It will be hosted by John Brenkus and Leo Howard, a black belt martial artist and star of Disney XD’s show Kickin’ It and feature pro athletes and scientific experiments that will test the limits of human athletic abilities.
