World Premiere of ‘The Lone Ranger’ to Benefit the American Indian College Fund

The Lone Ranger arrives in theaters this summer on July 3, but the film makes its world premiere on June 22 at Disney California Adventure Park.
And this isn’t just any red carpet premiere. The star studded event for the Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer film is going to benefit the American Indian College Fund. Tickets for the world premiere are $1,000 each.
Disney has donated the tickets to the Fund and is responsible for underwriting the entire event which means the entire price for each ticket is going to the Fund. The money raised …

Details Announced for runDisney’s 2014 Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World

Lace up those running shoes and dust off your tiara! runDisney just announced new details for the 2014 Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World.
Events for the weekend include the Princess Half Marathon, the Royal Family 5K, the Enchanted 10K, the Glass Slipper Challenge, kids races, a pasta party, breakfast, and the Fit for a Princess Expo.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Extends and Expands Relationship with H2O Plus

The H2O Plus products found in resort rooms at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are going to be available at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii, and internationally at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Resort Paris as part of a new deal between the company and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
In addition to the international deal, H2O Plus is going to sponsor five runDisney races at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, providing a variety of hair and skin care products during the race weekends. …

Two stars from Disney Junior’s top-rated shows, Princess Sofia and Doc McStuffins, are joining their pals from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Never Land Pirates at Disney California Adventure Park’s Disney Junior – Live on Stage!

L’Artisan des Glaces Sorbet and Ice Cream Shop in Epcot’s France is Open

We first told you last month about the new ice cream and sorbet shop opening in Epcot’s France in the in the former location of the Boulangerie Patisserie. Today we have good news to share – L’Artisan des Glaces Sorbet and Ice Cream Shop is open!

Disneyland’s Toontown Evacuated Tuesday Night after Small Explosion in Trash Can

A small explosion in a trash can Tuesday night in Disneyland’s Toontown led police to evacuate visitors from that area of the park. No injuries were reported.
The Anaheim Police Department said the device appeared to be a “dry ice bomb” made up of dry ice placed in a plastic bottle. A police sergeant said it was similar to other devices that have been found in Anaheim neighborhoods in recent months, and investigators are looking into whether those events are connected.

New Merchandise Featuring Select Disney Resort Hotels Arrives This Summer at Walt Disney World

This summer select Disney Resort hotels will have non-character themed resort merchandise available for purchase, featuring artwork designed by Disney Design Group artist Tim Whalen.
The merchandise features symbols or architectural details that are representative of each resort. Whalen says the details are “like characters that guests may immediately recognizes when staying at those specific resorts.”
These details include a lighthouse for Disney’s Old Key West Resort, a turtle for Disney’s Vero Beach resort, a beach chair for Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, and racing horses for Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & …

Disney Legends Richard M. Sherman and Alan Menken – two of the world’s most celebrated songwriters and composers – will take the stage at this year’s D23 Expo 2013 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Richard M. Sherman and Alan Menken: The Disney Songbook.
Sherman and Menken have composed music and songs for more than three dozen Disney feature films and more than two dozen Disney Park attractions, in addition to half a dozen Disney musicals on Broadway.

Disney VoluntEARS Use Skill-Based Volunteerism to Serve Needs of Communities

As The Walt Disney Company continues to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its VoluntEARS program, some employees are taking on new projects that include graphic design, web design, and financial analysis.
This type of work is called skills-based volunteerism, and recently four teams of Disney VoluntEARS helped the Boys & Girls Clubs in Los Angeles County as they created marketing materials including brochures and websites. The VoluntEARS spent nearly four months working with the clubs on these projects.

Adventures by Disney Announces New Destinations and Teen-Focused Activities for 2014

Adventures by Disney recently announced two new European experiences for 2014, in addition to enhanced teen-focused activities on several existing travel adventures.
The first new journey takes families to Central Europe with a 9-day, 8-night vacation to Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
