The nominees have been announced for the Radio Disney Music Awards and voting begins today – February 28 – via Radio Disney’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
Some of the nominees for this year’s RDMAs include One Direction, Austin Mahone, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Zendaya, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Becky G.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating spring with a special event that connects families with nature.
On March 4 at Rafiki’s Planet Watch guests have a chance to get up close with amphibians including frogs and toads, and meet the animal experts who care for them. Kids will have the chance to build toad abodes for their own backyards, learn to leap like a frog, and listen to frog calls.

Walt Disney Records is releasing the first-ever Disney Junior compilation album, DJ Shuffle, on March 18.
The album will showcase the new Disney Junior anthem, DJ Shuffle, performed by “meme master” Parry Gripp (Do You Like Waffles) and also debuts songs from Disney Junior shows.
Other songs on the CD include ‘Hoppin’ Out with You,’ a duet performed by Sofia and Clover from Sofia the First, and karaoke tracks including ‘Blue Ribbon Bunny’ from Sofia the First, ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’ from the show Jake and the Never Land Pirates, …

The Walt Disney World Resort has a great lineup of merchandise events planned for March, but the biggest event is the 2014 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.
The festival starts March 5 and runs through May 18 and features topiaries, gardens, Outdoor Kitchens, and more. And of course there is the festival-specific merchandise including topiary-inspired garden artwork, a special edition Duffy the Disney Bear, and “revealed/concealed” Vinylmation.

Downtown Disney is planning an authentic St. Patrick’s Day celebration full of music, entertainment, and food on March 7-17.
The celebration is going to feature nearly 10 top Irish bands and professional dancers on three stages on select days during the festival. Nightly performances are scheduled March 7-14 from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m., and from 12 p.m. until 1 a.m. from March 15-17.

The Walt Disney Studios unveiled a cloud-based digital movie service, Disney Movies Anywhere, giving fans the ability to purchase, manage, and watch movies from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel at home and on the go.
Disney Movies Anywhere is available on the web and as an app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Runners assemble!
runDisney has announced the Inaugural Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend at the Disneyland Resort on November 14-16.
The events for the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend include a Family Fun Run 5K, a half marathon, and kids races.
Marvel Avenger characters will be on the race course, cheering on the runners as they run through Disneyland and surrounding areas.

This spring guests at The American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot will have a chance to see an expansion of Re-Discovering America: Family Treasures from the Kinsey Collection.
This expansion includes additional images, artwork, and artifacts related to important moments in American history. The exhibit’s themes are hope, belief, courage, imagination, and heritage and the art and artifacts pay homage to African Americans who helped build this nation.

Three-time Olympian Kim Smith won the 2014 Disney Princess Half Marathon on February 23, and also set a new course record.
Smith crossed the finish line in 1:11:49, nearly 15 minutes before any other runner, and breaking the previous course record of 1:17:38 – set last year – by six minutes.
Smith is a native of New Zealand and is also an elite runner with New Balance. She said the highlight of Sunday’s race was the chance to run through the Disney parks.

It’s going to cost a little bit more to visit the Walt Disney World theme parks.
For the second time in less than a year, Disney has raised the price of a single day park admission for all four theme parks in Orlando.
A one-day ticket for the Magic Kingdom will cost $99 for guests age 10 and older. This $4 increase makes the Magic Kingdom the most expensive Disney park.
One-day tickets for Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios increased in price from $90 to $94.
