Nominees Announced for Radio Disney Music Awards – Voting Begins February 28 via Social Media Platforms

The nominees have been announced for the Radio Disney Music Awards and voting begins today – February 28 – via Radio Disney’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
Some of the nominees for this year’s RDMAs include One Direction, Austin Mahone, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Zendaya, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Becky G.
Categories for the awards reflect the music and artists that are popular with kids ages 6-14 – the target audience for Radio Disney. Categories include “Best Song To Rock Out To With Your BFF,”  “The Buzz …

Demi Lovato Goes Country with Cover of Lady Antebellum’s ‘American Honey’

On July 17, Demi Lovato surprised fans with a cover version of Lady Antebellum’s American Honey, trying her hand at some country twang and proving that a teen pop sensation can definitely branch out.
However, this isn’t the first time former Disney starlet has given country music a shot. In December, Lovato told fans that she had written a country song (it hasn’t made it to radio yet.) She’s also a self-professed huge country fan, sources say.

Demi Lovato Kicks Off Summer Tour in June

Former Disney star Demi Lovato will be kicking off her summer tour in June, starting in California and making 21 stops around the United States as well as one stop in Canada. The tour will run the entire summer and culminate September 1. Hot Chelle Rae and Owl City are expected to be Lovato’s opening acts.
While Lovato has spoken candidly about her personal struggles in the past, she says that she didn’t want her most recent album to be exclusively about that. Lovato says:

Demi Lovato Comes Clean About Drug Use

With her well-publicized stint in rehab for an eating disorder, self-harm and emotional issues, Disney darling Demi Lovato has now revealed another factor that led to her being placed in treatment – drug abuse.
The 19 year old says that self esteem issues and peer pressure led her to experiment with cocaine in 2010, and that promoters would supply her with drugs and alcohol while visiting clubs and restaurants because they wanted her to come back; essentially, Lovato says they were “kissing her ass.”

Demi Lovato Still Struggles with Eating Disorder and Self-Harm

In her documentary Stay Strong, which aired on MTV last night, Disney star Demi Lovato opened up to the cameras and explained how she still struggles with the physical and mental issues that put her into a treatment center in 2010.
Lovato says:
I cannot tell you that I have not thrown up since treatment. I cannot tell you that I have not cut myself since treatment. I’m not perfect. It’s a daily battle.

After a stint in rehab in 2010 stemming from her problems with food and self-harming, Demi Lovato opens up about her struggle with an eating disorder, going so far as to say she’s convinced she was “born” with one. Says Demi:

Demi Lovato Lashes Out at Disney Over Eating Disorder Joke

We all know how open former Disney darling Demi Lovato has been about her struggle with emotional and physical issues, and now Lovato is slamming Disney for an offensive joke about eating disorders made on Disney’s show Shake it Up.
One of the characters quipped, “I could just eat you up, well, if I ate,” and Lovato took to her Twitter account to express her anger with Disney for allowing this type of joke to be aired.

Demi Lovato Reaches Out to Current Patients of Her Former Treatment Center

In an effort to give back during the holiday season, Demi Lovato returned to Timberline Knolls in Illinois, the treatment center she entered last year to resolve her issues with an eating disorder and self-harm. By sharing her story with current patients, she hopes to help other women struggling with their own issues realize that they are not alone.
On Sunday, Lovato shared a series of tweets about her visit to her former treatment facility, saying “what an inspiring day… many tears were shed and many memories were brought back.”
