Disney and USO Provide Entertainment for Sandy Relief Workers

Newsies on Broadway

In a partnership with the USO, Disney Theatrical Group recently arranged for a little entertainment for service workers in New York City to aide with Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The move is part of Disney’s continued efforts to support victims of the storm, which swept through the northeast United States in late October, bringing widespread devastation.

More than 500 service men and women who were temporarily relocated to two armories in New York City received tickets to one of three Disney Broadway productions. Relief workers enjoyed a night of entertainment at Mary Poppins, Newsies, or The Lion King.

The move came as a result of Disney’s ongoing relationship with the USO, a nonprofit organization that provides a variety of services and entertainment to United States military personnel and their families.
