Marvel Super Heroes Assembling for Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition

The Avengers are assembling again – this time as part of Disney Infinity.
Disney Interactive and Marvel Entertainment have announced that the Marvel superheroes will be featured in Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, which is the 2.0 version of the best-selling toy/video game hybrid.
Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes will include more than 20 new figures from the Marvel universe in addition to new story lines, and an all-new Toy Box mode that will make it easier for players to creates and share their mini-games with friends and family.

Stan Lee Media Sues Disney for Copyright Infringement

Despite the fact Disney bought Marvel for $4 billion in 2009 – and has earned profits off Stan Lee’s characters since – there is one company that claims Disney has breached copyright law.
Stan Lee Media Inc. (SLMI), formerly affiliated with Lee, filed a complaint stating the copyright to Marvel’s characters belongs to them, not the Walt Disney Company. In the complaint, SLMI states that Stan Lee signed over the copyright for Marvel properties and characters to SLMI in 1998 – before signing them over to Disney one month later.

ABC Orders Pilot for Marvel-Related TV Series

Disney-owned ABC have ordered a pilot for S.H.I.E.L.D., a Marvel-related television show that will be co-written by Avengers scribe Joss Whedon.
The new project is based on the long-running comic book series, created by Jack Kirby. Whedon will co-write the pilot along with his brother, Jed Whedon and his wife Maurissa Tancharoen. According to sources, production on the new live-action project will begin immediately.
Not much more is known about the project at this point, but we will keep you posted when more information becomes available.
