March 20 will be a big day for the Muppets. Not only will audiences all over the country finally have the opportunity to bring their new film The Muppets home on DVD and Blu-ray, but the Muppets will also finally be honored with their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On Tuesday, March 20 at 11:30 AM, the Muppets will receive the 2,466th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Motion Pictures. The star and ceremony will be located at 6834 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the El Capitan Theatre. Guest speakers at the ceremony will include Walt Disney Studios President Rich Ross, CEO of The Jim Henson Company Lisa Henson, and Actor/Writer of The Muppets Jason Segel.

This honor is well-deserved for the Muppets, who have brought joy and laughter to audiences of all ages for over 40 years. In addition to their work on the hit TV show The Muppet Show and such films as The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and The Muppets Take Manhattan, the Muppets have appeared in countless TV specials, documentaries, books, magazines, museum exhibits, and more, becoming international celebrities. The Muppets have also acted as spokespeople for numerous domestic and international causes, including The National Wildlife Federation, UNICEF, the American Library Association, and the Better World Society. With their most recent film The Muppets, the Muppets also earned their first Academy Award, winning for Best Song.
