Tinker Bell, the New Face of Energy Conservation

In an effort to inspire today’s youth and their parents to adopt positive energy efficiency practices, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and The Advertising Council have created a new series of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) using Disney’s beloved Tinker Bell. The Walt Disney Studios developed the new PSAs as part of a nationwide effort to reduce energy consumption. Designed to educate 8-12 year olds on how to save energy, the PSAs will appear on television, in outdoor advertising mediums, and on the internet.

Disney’s ‘Tangled’ still very much about Rapunzel

Disneyland Paris Receives Approval for Expansion

Euro Disney, which includes the popular Disneyland Paris park, has received a ‘green light’ this week from French authorities for expansion; the once struggling tourist destination plans on adding a third gate, they’ll expand the property, and have signed a new 13 year contract to operate. Euro Disney spokesman Laurent Manologlou claims the expansion project could create as many as 70,000 jobs.

Demand Is “Tremendous” for New Disney Dream Ship

Construction is well underway on the Disney Cruise Line’s third ship, the Disney Dream, and according to Disney, its completion can’t get here soon enough. Jay Rasulo, the chief financial officer for Disney, told Wall Street analysts on Thursday that the amount of interest in the Dream is “tremendous.”
Orders have been coming in from both new and returning Disney cruisers, and Rasulo comments, “We’re very happy with the booking pace.” The new ship, which is scheduled to debut in January, will have 1,250 cabins, making it larger than Disney’s current …

Babar on Disney Channel

One of my favorite childhood books is joining up with my favorite Animation pros — Babar has been picked up by the Disney Channel!
Well, more appropriately, Babar and the Adventures of Badou. This new animated series from Nelvana will be going live in the United States on Playhouse Disney, and will also be seen on YTV in Canada this November, on TF1 and Playhouse Disney in France, on Playhouse Disney in Japan, on the Disney Channel in Italy and Spain, and several more.

Disney Cast Members Raise $36K for Make-A-Wish Foundation

Five-hundred Disney cast members dedicated over 47,000 hours to produce “Dream Our Dreams, A Musical Tribute to the Legacy of Disney,” a live show to benefit the “Make-A-Wish Foundation” of Central and Northern Florida. Held at EPCOT’s “World ShowPlace” in early August, the volunteer ensemble donated the profits to the organization this week totaling $37K.

New Parade Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios; “Block Party Bash” to End January 1

The entertainment offerings are quickly changing these days at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the Walt Disney World Resort. In addition to the previously announced “Disney Channel Rocks!” show coming to the park on October 22, the Disney Parks Blog recently announced that a new parade will be coming as well. The parade, which is currently unnamed, will feature some of the popular characters from different Disney/Pixar movies. Selena Gomez Less Than Enthusiastic About “Jersey Shore’s” Vinny

Selena Gomez may be a big fan of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” but she’s apparently willing to lie about her age to avoid unwanted advances from the show’s cast members.
