Disney VoluntEARS Help Build a Playground for Anaheim Children

Last weekend, Disney VoluntEARS helped build a playground for children, mere blocks away from the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim – and it all happened in just one day.

In collaboration with the City of Anaheim, Anaheim Family YMCA, KaBOOM! and community members, VoluntEARS helped build a playground at Stoddard Park in an effort to give more than 1,000 local children a safe place to play. In March, local kids met with Disney and KaBOOM! to help design the playground, and their designs were used to inspire the final design of the playground.

Disney and KaBOOM! have partnered together since 2011, and Disney has pledged more than $3.5 million to help build playgrounds across the country. By the end of 2012, Disney will have helped fund the building of more than 30 playgrounds nationwide, giving thousands of children a place to play.
