Anaheim Disney Parks See Higher Attendance Numbers

Attendance at Anaheim’s Disney Parks has grown tremendously during the late summer, media reports have said. The Walt Disney Co.’s financial report for July 1 through September 29 showed an uptick in attendance, due in large part to the new expansion project at Disney’s California Adventure.
According to the report, visitors at Disney’s California Adventure park contributed to a 3% overall attendance increase since last quarter. Jay Rasulo, the company’s chief financial officer, said in a statement that he attributed the attendance hike to “the great success of Cars Land, both …

Registration for 2013 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Now Open

Registration for the 2013 Tinker Bell Half Marathon is now open!
If you’re interested in running this race, you should register early. Last year, the race sold out very quickly and drew more than 17,000 runners in the various events held throughout the weekend, all of which are geared towards women. This year’s race promises to be just as exciting as the inaugural race last year.

Disney VoluntEARS Help Build a Playground for Anaheim Children

Last weekend, Disney VoluntEARS helped build a playground for children, mere blocks away from the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim – and it all happened in just one day.
In collaboration with the City of Anaheim, Anaheim Family YMCA, KaBOOM! and community members, VoluntEARS helped build a playground at Stoddard Park in an effort to give more than 1,000 local children a safe place to play. Military Families to Get Special Holiday Gift from Disney

This weekend, 17 military families are set to get a special holiday gift from The Disneyland Resort  – a decorated Christmas tree, trimmed by employees of Downtown Disney businesses.
Cpl. Christopher O’Quin is one such man who will be receiving this special gift from Disney. Says O’Quin:
I want the kids to have a really, really amazing Christmas, not like one they’ve ever had. I think this will be one of those things that will make our Christmas that much better.

D23 Expo: Exclusive Pictures of New Cars Land Vehicles

D23 Announces Expo Schedule

Taking place from August 19th-21st, 2011, in Anaheim, California, the D23 Expo is an event that’s been eagerly anticipated for two years — and now we have the schedule!

Small Fire Ignites at Disneyland Resort; No Injuries Reported

During a small fire that ignited on a construction site behind Disney California Adventure on Wednesday, workers were told to evacuate the site while firefighters worked to put out the blaze. 
According to Anaheim Fire Department spokeswoman Maria Sabol, a plastic tarp over steel framework caught fire. At the time, welders were working on the construction site, and sparks from their equipment may have contributed to the fire. Sabol was quick to add that the investigation is still ongoing, however.

Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale Visit Disneyland With Their Little Mouseketeers

Orange County native & long-time Disneyland fan Gwen Stefani, accompanied by husband Gavin Rossdale & their two children, visited the Anaheim park on July 7th. “Just Jared” is reporting that the happy family rode the teacups together and spent time exploring the park.
Youngest son Zuma sported Mickey ears, a Mickey Mouse t-shirt, and striped pirate socks while older brother Kingston stuck to a less-Disney Batman tee & jeans look.

Comic-Con in Disneyland?

The San Diego Tribune is reporting that not only will the world-famous conference, Comic-Con, soon run out its contract with San Diego (2012), but it will receive a bid to move the conference to Disneyland’s hometown, Anaheim, CA!
