The Boathouse is Opening Soon at Downtown Disney

As the transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs continues, one of the new signature dining locations is set to open sometime this month.
The Boathouse is located at The Landing – the former home of Pleasure Island – and will be serving up steaks and seafood.
The menu features items including Filet Mignon, New York Strip Steak, a Porterhouse for two, and a Tomahawk Long Bone Rib Chop for two. The prices are what you’d expect for a signature restaurant – that Tomahawk Long Bone Rib Chop will set you back …

April Merchandise Events Announced for Walt Disney World Resort

It’s April and we’re not foolin’ – there’s a whole month of great merchandise events planned for the Walt Disney World Resort.
Starting today, April 1, and running through April 5 artist Greg McCullough will be at the Art of Disney in the Downtown Disney Marketplace from 1-9 p.m. He’ll return on April 15-19 and then Greg will be at the Art of Disney in Epcot from April 29 through May 3.

This Week in Disney News: Epcot Attraction News, Possible New Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom, and a New Itinerary for Disney Cruise Line

We’ve almost made it through the month of March and once again it’s been a week full of exciting Disney news! Let’s dive in!
Another attraction at Epcot is closing. Innoventions West in Future World will close in May for a refurbishment – which means they’re taking out the current attractions and replacing them with new ones. Say goodbye to the Great Piggy Bank Adventure.
The new film Tomorrowland opens in theaters on May 22 but starting next month guests at Epcot (and Disneyland) can get an extended preview of the film. …

D23 Announces Special Events for Members at Walt Disney World Resort

D23: The Official Disney Fan Club recently announced a slate of special member events at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The first event is planned for Saturday, April 18 when Gold and Silver D23 members can enjoy the animated classic Sleeping Beauty on the big screen. This event takes place at the AMC 24 Theaters in Downtown Disney and includes special guest, animator and Walt Disney World Creative Designer Lon Smart.
All members will also receive a special journal that looks like the ornate storybook shown at the start of the film.

New Pedestrian Bridge to Open Soon at Downtown Disney

If you have ever visited Downtown Disney you know how difficult it can be to cross Buena Vista Drive – but now there’s a new pedestrian bridge to ease your travels.
The new pedestrian walkway towers over Buena Vista Drive and is located near Team Disney and will give guests easier and safer access to the still-being-renovated Downtown Disney.
The bride was developed by Reedy Creek Improvement District, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Disney Springs Project team and is expected to be opened later this spring.

This Week in Disney News – Ticket Price Increase, Flower and Garden News, and Lots of New Merchandise!

It’s March! And this can only mean one thing – the 2015 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival starts this week!
This year’s festival includes all-new Frozen topiaries, new menu items at the Outdoor Kitchens, and for the first time ever, free cooking demos from Disney chefs!

WonderGround Gallery Expanding at Marketplace Co-Op

The WonderGround Gallery is set to expand at Downtown Disney’s Marketplace Co-Op.
When the Marketplace Co-Op opened there was a small fixture area near the front of the store where items from WonderGround Gallery were for sale. The new location for the Gallery will be in the former home of Beautifully Disney.
The Marketplace Co-Op was designed to showcase new and unique Disney merchandise, so the move is part of the plan for the store.

Walt Disney World Resort Announces Merchandise Events for February 2015

We’ve almost made it to February! And a new month means a new schedule of special merchandise events at the Walt Disney World Resort.
From February 5-23 guests can meet representatives from Precious Moments at Once Upon a Toy in the Downtown Disney Marketplace and celebrate the release of the Valentine’s Day collection. Doll creator Linda Rick will be at Once Upon a Toy on February 20-22.

New Tsum Tsum Designs and Collectible Pins Coming to Disney Parks

Fans of the Tsum Tsum plush toys at the Disney Parks have something to be excited about.
A new 101 Dalmatians mini Tsum Tsum plush collection is arriving at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in February. The collection is currently only available at Disney Stores and online.
Disney pin collectors will be able to purchase a new collectible pin pack that features Tsum Tsum – it arrives in stores later this year. Each pin pack will contain five pins – randomly selected, of course.

Splitsville Luxury Lanes in Downtown Disney Showcasing Live Bands Every Saturday Night

Splitsville Luxury Lanes in Downtown Disney recently introduce a new entertainment option for guests on Saturday nights – a live band.
Each Saturday night guests can enjoy dinner, drinks, bowling, and music thanks to bands including The Jimmy James Band, Blonde Ambition, and others. The bands perform from 9 p.m. until 12:30 a.m.
Splitsville has also introduced some new menu items including crispy wings, a sushi tuna rice bowl, a Foghorn burger, steak alfredo, and a California cruch roll. The drink menu now includes a Cinnamon Toast Colada and Sangrita.
