August 2014 Merchandise Events Announced for the Walt Disney World Resort

August at the Walt Disney World Resort is a month full of special merchandise events.
The month kicks off with an appearance by artist Greg McCullough at the Art of Disney in the Downtown Disney Marketplace from July 30 until August 3. Greg will be back on property from August 20-24 at the Art of Disney.

‘Planes: Fire & Rescue’ Merchandise Soars Into Disney Parks Ahead of Film’s Release

Disneytoon’s latest film, Planes: Fire & Rescue, arrives in theaters on July 18 but fans can pick up new merchandise at the Disney Parks right now.
The new Planes: Fire & Rescue merchandise includes a Dusty Do-It-Yourself Foam Plane, the original Walt Disney Records Soundtrack, the Piston Peak Fire Air Operations pin, and a youth baseball hat.
Other new merchandise items include Piston Peak Fire & Rescue gear in youth sized T-shirts and fleece. These items are only available at the Disney Parks. Kids can get into the action with die-cast metal …

Disney Store Celebrating ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue’ with In-Store Events this Month

Prior to the theatrical release of Disneytoon’s Planes: Fire & Rescue, the Disney Store is celebrating the film with special in-store events.
Kids ages 3 and older can train to become Aerial Fire Fighters at the special events and learn about the film’s characters.
The in-store events include the following activities:

Fly low: kids will crawl or walk under a tarp as low as they can without touching the tarp
Parachute manipulation: kids will toss a smokejumper with a  parachute and try to land it on a target

Disney Holds Special Screening of ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue’ for CAL FIRE Firefighters

The Disneytoon Studios recently held a special screening of this summer’s Planes: Fire & Rescue for CAL FIRE firefighters.
The studio worked closely with the mean and women of CAL FIRE (the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection) while making Planes: Fire & Rescue.

Pixar Animation Studios is Developing ‘Cars 3’ and a Sequel to ‘The Incredibles’

Lightning McQueen and Mr. Incredible are headed back to the big screen.
It was announced at this week’s annual meeting of The Walt Disney Company shareholders and D23 Members that Pixar Animation Studios is developing a third installment in the Cars franchise in addition to a sequel to Brad Bird’s The Incredibles.
The original Cars was released in 2006 while the sequel, Cars 2, was released in 2011. Disneytoon Studios released a spinoff – Planes – last year. This summer, Planes: Fire & Rescue hits the big screen.

Walt Disney Studios Announce 2014 Movie Release Dates

After a huge year at the box office in 2013, Walt Disney Studios has just announced the release dates for its 2014 movie slate.
Starting out the year on February 28 is The Wind Rises from Touchstone Pictures. The movies stars the voice talents of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emily Blunt, Martin Short, John Krasinski, Jennifer Grey, Stanley Tucci, and more.
