Marvel Creates Small-Screen Division

Marvel is going into television, it seems. The company, newly-owned by Disney, has created a TV division, which will be overseen by TV writer Jeff Loeb. According to the recent Hollywood Reporter article,
Loeb, who most recently worked as a co-exec producer of NBC’s “Heroes,” will oversee the translation of Marvel’s popular characters and stories to the television medium, in both live-action and animation formats. Loeb will also oversee the development and distribution of live-action, animated and direct-to-DVD series.

Pixar Short “Day and Night” Available on iTunes

We’ve been following the development of Pixar’s Day and Night for a while now, and we’re excited to announce that the short film is now available for purchase on iTunes!
Directed by Teddy Newton and showcased at the beginning of blockbuster film Toy Story 3, this brilliant little piece of film making showcases the creative minds of Pixar at work. It runs about six minutes and will set you back about $1.99. You must have iTunes downloaded to purchase Day and Night.

Disney Tries to Revive Radio Serial With “My Dream”

Disney doesn’t mind trying genres that are considered out of date. “High School Musical” was considered risky when it was created and went on to make the company huge profits. They’re looking for the same kind of unconventional success with “My Dream,” a radio serial to be presented on Radio Disney according to the Associated Press.

Kobe Bryant Visits Disneyland

When you are the star of the Los Angeles Lakers and you’ve just won the NBA championship, you know what to do. You’re going to Disneyland.
Kobe Bryant and his family visited the park with his wife Vanessa and his two daughters Natalia and Gianna. They visited both Disneyland as well as Disney’s California Adventure, hitting most of the popular rides. All of this followed a victory parade down Main Street USA.

Disney-Marvel May Introduce Characters in Short Films

Latino Review has reported rumor that Disney will begin introducing second-tier characters via short films, not unlike the short films released by Pixar, which preface their full-length features.
Got a scoop from a well trusted source that Marvel/Disney are looking at doing 10 minute short films in front of their feature length movies that will introduce secondary characters like Black Panther, Luke Cage, Dr. Strange, etc.
