Sam Raimi to Direct Wizard of Oz Prequel

Spider-Man‘s Sam Raimi has been confirmed as the director of Disney’s upcoming Wizard of Oz prequel, currently being titled Oz: The Great and Powerful and slated for 2013.
Another possible addition? Robert Downey Jr. as the wizard himself:
Deadline’s Nikke Finke writes, “Downey would play the Wizard of Oz before he became the Wizard of Oz … he’s in fact a circus wrangler transported by tornado to the mysterious world of Oz where he gets mistaken for a know-it-all.” Downey hasn’t committed to the role yet, and no release date has …

Is Selena Gomez the New Miley Cyrus?

Miley Cyrus is likely going to be with us for a long time, however she is unlikely to continue on as a Disney star; her recent racy videos and cover on Elle suggest she is distancing herself from her Disney Channel image. As she busily transitions her career to a more adult angle, will Selena Gomez be taking her place in Disney’s lineup?

What was his answer? Managing to stay fairly neutral, Iger still revealed that it’s likely.
“We’re just now considering all of our different options, so it would be premature to say when or where in the parks you would see Marvel characters — but I think it’s …
