New Series 'Miles From Tomorrowland' to Debut on Disney Junior

Disney announced that production began this week on Miles From Tomorrowland, a new animated series for preschoolers. The new space adventure series is set to debut in 2015 on Disney Junior channels and programming blocks around the world.

Pixar's Pete Docter Reveals New Details About Upcoming Film 'Inside Out'

Ever since we first heard about Pixar's upcoming film Inside Out at the 2011 D23 Expo, we've been so excited to hear more about this intriguing new film. Recently, Pete Docter revealed some new information about working on the animated film, which will take place inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl.

‘Tangled’ Director Reportedly At Work On New Disney Animated Film, Jason Bateman to Star

Following the success of Disney’s Tangled in 2010, it looks like director Byron Howard will soon return to helm another Disney film. It was reported this week that Walt Disney Animation Studios is currently working on a new animated film, which will be directed by Howard and star Jason Bateman.
News of the upcoming film was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, and has not yet been officially confirmed by Disney. The film is described as an “untitled animal comedy” that does not yet have a release date.

Next Pixar Short Revealed: ‘The Blue Umbrella’

We’ve been hearing a lot lately about Pixar’s next feature film, Monsters University. However, this week brought us our first news about the short that will air in front of the highly anticipated prequel, as Pixar announced their next animated short, The Blue Umbrella.
The Blue Umbrella, directed by Pixar technical artist Saschka Unseld, tells the love story of two umbrellas against the backdrop of a rainy city. The official synopsis reads, “Amidst the rain in a singing city, two umbrellas – one blue, one not – fall eternally in love.”

New ‘Monsters University’ Images and Concept Art Released

This week brought the exciting debut of the first Monsters University trailers, and we can’t wait to see more from this upcoming Disney/Pixar film. Video: The Making of Disney’s Tangled

Directors Byron Howard and Nathan Greno discuss the animation theory behind the upcoming Disney animated film, Tangled.
The directors mention that this film is seeking the look and style of past Disney animation favorites Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, but with a fresh look of CGI. Special attention is paid here to the Tower, where Rapunzel has spent her life; the Forest, where she first breaks free from what has always been her home; and the Pub — the Snuggly Duckling.

Russians Don’t Care for Toy Story 3?

Apparently the Russians are more in the Dreamworks camp than the Pixar one. The LA Times is reporting that while Shrek Forever did $37.7 million in it’s first 10 days, Pixar’s Toy Story 3 has grossed a paltry $4.8 million.
