‘Brave,’ ‘Paperman,’ ‘Lincoln’ Earn 2013 Oscars

Last night, Hollywood celebrated the performers, creators, and  at the 2013 Academy Awards. While Argo earned Best Picture, several Disney films were also honored with Oscars at the ceremony, which also included an appearance by the cast of The Avengers.
Following its wins at the BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and Annie Awards, Disney/Pixar’s recent film Brave earned the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Co-directors Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman accepted the award, making Chapman the first woman to earn an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. ‘Wreck-It Ralph,’ ‘Paperman,’ and Others Earn 2013 Annie Awards

The Oscars are still a few weeks away, but this weekend, this year’s animated films were given a chance to shine at the 40th Annual Annie Awards. Disney films took home many of the top awards this year, including the top prizes of Best Animated Feature and Animated Short Subject.

Walt Disney Studios Earns 17 Oscar Nominations

The Walt Disney Studios definitely has something to celebrate: the Oscar nominations were announced, and the company earned 17 nominations for their films!
Lincoln took the most nominations with 12 total, including a nomination for Best Picture. Additionally, Lincoln earned the distinction of being the most nominated film of the year. Other Disney films earned one nomination each, including Frankenweenie, Brave, Wreck-It Ralph, Paperman and The Avengers.

‘Paperman’ Makes Short List for Academy Awards Nomination

While Disney Animation Studios’ newest feature film Wreck-It Ralph has been delighting audiences and taking in record numbers at the box office, perhaps one of the biggest treats of seeing the film in theaters is the opportunity to see the short film before it, Paperman. ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Grosses a Record-Setting $49.1 Million in Opening Weekend

This weekend marked the theatrical debut of Wreck-It Ralph, and its box office reception will certainly give Walt Disney Animation Studios a reason to celebrate. In its opening weekend, Wreck-It Ralph took in $49.1 million at the domestic box office, which is the top weekend debut for a film from Disney Animation Studios.

‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ Celebrates 75th Anniversary with Special Screening in New York City

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and the film will be celebrated with a state-of-the-art digital presentation at the New York Film Festival on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the prestigious Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. The film will be introduced by acclaimed animator/director Eric Goldberg, who served as supervisor of the Genie character in Aladdin, co-directer of Pocahontas, and counts Fantasia 2000 among his credits. Concept Art Released for Disney’s ‘Paperman’ Short

A few months ago, we let you know about the announcement of a brand-new animated Disney short, Paperman. While very little information was known about the project at the time, new information and concept art has recently been released for this must-see short, which will make its North American debut this month at the Annecy and LA Film Festivals before premiering in front of Wreck-It Ralph this fall.

Disney short ‘Paperman’ Revealed

Sources have come across a new Disney short titled Paperman, but little information is known about this new short so far.
So far, there have only been a few subtle references to the short, including one from animator Patrick Osborne, who posted the following to his blog:
