New Series 'Miles From Tomorrowland' to Debut on Disney Junior

Disney announced that production began this week on Miles From Tomorrowland, a new animated series for preschoolers. The new space adventure series is set to debut in 2015 on Disney Junior channels and programming blocks around the world.

In a statement, Nancy Kanter, Senior Vice President of Original Programming and General Manager of Disney Junior Worldwide, said:

“We hope this series will influence a child's interest in science and technology by introducing them at an early age to the exciting world of space exploration, how things work and what lies beyond the here and now.”

Miles From Tomorrowland will focus on seven-year-old adventurer Miles Callisto and his family, including his big sister Loretta and his parents, who work for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (a familiar name to Walt Disney World fans). Each episode will focus on the family's travels to strange new worlds around the galaxy, helping children to become more interested in the universe around them while reinforcing the importance of a strong family bond.

Serving as creator and executive producer on the new series is Emmy nominee Sascha Paladino, with another Emmy nominee, Paul Demeyer, set to direct. Miles From Tomorrowland is a production of Wild Canary in association with Disney Junior.
