Star Sighting: Tulisa Contostavlos Enjoys Some Fun in the Sun at Disney World

The X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, who came to the U.S. to work on her solo album material, was seen having the time of her life at Walt Disney World.
The 23 year old was even seen channeling her inner child while sporting a pair of Minnie Mouse ears with a ruby red bow. She was also accompanied by her PA Gareth Vary and singer/songwriter The Dream.

‘Pac-Man’ Coming to Disney XD Fall 2013

It looks like the classic animated video game character Pac-Man will be returning to the small screen!
Disney XD has picked up a new animated action comedy starring the iconic character, and has tentatively titled the show Pac-Man: The Adventure Begins. The series will be executive produced by Avi Arad and Rick Unger, and Arad says:

Production Begins on Disney’s ‘The Lone Ranger’

Sources have announced that production has begun for the upcoming Disney flick The Lone Ranger, featuring Armie Hammer in the starring role and Johnny Depp as Tonto.
The film takes place in 1869 and will be directed by Gore Verbinski, and will mark the 5th collaboration between Verbinski and Depp after the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films and Rango.
According to the official press release, the film is described as:

Stage Version of Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book’ to Premiere at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre

Sources have announced that Tony winner Mary Zimmerman will write and direct the stage adaptation of Disney’s The Jungle Book when it premieres at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre.
The stage production will be based on Disney’s 1967 film The Jungle Book, which was based on Rudyard Kipling’s books. It tells the story of a young boy named Mowgli who ends up orphaned and raised among the jungle animals in India. The musical will feature several beloved songs from the classic film, such as “Bare Necessities,” as well as several compositions that were …

Disney Cast Members Bury a Time Capsule at Disney’s California Adventure

Last weekend, a group of Disney cast members and Imagineers marked a milestone in the construction of Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure Park by burying a time capsule. The time capsule, which contains items specific to the park, was buried in Buena Vista Plaza and will not be opened again until 2037.

Disney Star Allisyn Arm is ‘Be Your Own You’ Magazine’s New Cover Girl

French Video on Demand Service Signs Deal with Disney

Last week, we brought you news of Disney’s deal with China’s You On Demand service, a subscription video-on-demand program. Now, the French pay-TV operator Canal+ Group has also inked a deal with Disney to make ABC Studios television series and Disney films a part of their subscription-based VoD service, Canalplay Infinity.
The deal will make several series part of the service, including Grey’s Anatomy, Lost and Desperate Housewives. Canalplay Infinity will also offer approximately 100 films from Disney’s catalog including Pirates of the Caribbean.

Disney XD Show ‘Lab Rats’ Premieres Tonight

A new live-action comedy series premieres tonight on Disney XD and features a family of bionic siblings that not only have to deal with the trials of high school, but also their super powers.
Entitled Lab Rats, the show stars Tyrel Jackson as Leo Dooley and his three superhero step-siblings – strongman Adam (Spencer Boldman,) super fast Bree (Kelli Berglund) and young genius Chase, played by Billy Unger. Bret McKenzie Wins Academy Award for ‘The Muppets’ Song ‘Man or Muppet’

Last night, some of film’s best and brightest were awarded for their contributions to this year’s movies at the 84th Annual Academy Awards. Among those awarded was songwriter Bret McKenzie, who wrote the music for last fall’s film The Muppets.
McKenzie, who is best known as one half of the musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, was awarded the Oscar for Best Original Song for his song “Man or Muppet.” This is McKenzie’s first Academy Award.

Rachel Booth Finishes First in Princess Half Marathon, Sets New Record

This morning, over 19,000 runners ran the Disney Princess Half Marathon in Walt Disney World. Leading the pack from start to finish was Rachel Booth of Mandeville, LA, who came in first place for the race. With a time of 1 hour, 18 minutes, 11 seconds, Booth also set a new record for the race, beating 2009 first place finisher Liza Galvan’s time by seven seconds.
