Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration is still a couple months away but Disney has been giving fans a sneak peek at the merchandise for the party, including the all-new pins.
There are more than 100 Disney pins being released for Disneyland’s 60th anniversary, and that’s enough to make any Disney pin trader or collector very happy.
The Diamond Celebration pins include starter sets, lanyards and lanyard medals, trading bags, mystery packs, collector packs, and open and limited edition pins. There’s something for every kind of Disney pin collector.

When it was announced back in February that the Richard Petty Driving Experience was closing, guests were told the last day would be in June.
Now, the closing date has officially been announced as August 9 extending the chance for guests to take a spin around the Walt Disney World Speedway through the summer.

The popular children’s book series Fancy Nancy has been optioned by Disney Junior for development of an original animated television series and movie.
In addition to the movie and television series licensed products will be developed by Disney Consumer Products and HarperCollins and Disney Publishing have plans to collaborate on book editions based on the Disney Junior series.

The much-anticipated Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort celebrated its soft opening over the weekend and it’s being reported that guests waited up to six hours just to get in.
The new Tiki bar is located just off the lobby at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and while it was “inspired” by its West Coast cousin, this Walt Disney World version features themeing that fits in with the South Seas vibe of the resort.

Another attraction at Epcot is closing. Innoventions West in Future World will close in May for a refurbishment – which means they’re taking out the current attractions and replacing them with new ones. Say goodbye to the Great Piggy Bank Adventure.
The new film Tomorrowland opens in theaters on May 22 but starting next month guests at Epcot (and Disneyland) can get an extended preview of the film. …

D23: The Official Disney Fan Club recently announced a slate of special member events at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The first event is planned for Saturday, April 18 when Gold and Silver D23 members can enjoy the animated classic Sleeping Beauty on the big screen. This event takes place at the AMC 24 Theaters in Downtown Disney and includes special guest, animator and Walt Disney World Creative Designer Lon Smart.
All members will also receive a special journal that looks like the ornate storybook shown at the start of the film.

Disney’s newest film, Tomorrowland, hits theaters in May but guests on both coasts will have a chance to see an extended sneak peek of the film starting in April.
The exclusive preview of Tomorrowland will be shown with special in-theater effects at the Imagination Pavilion theater in Epcot and at the Tomorrowland Theater in Disneyland.
At Epcot, this preview means that Captain EO will be closed beginning April 10. The preview of Tomorrowland will start the next week. There’s no official word yet on when Captain EO will return to Epcot.

If you have ever visited Downtown Disney you know how difficult it can be to cross Buena Vista Drive – but now there’s a new pedestrian bridge to ease your travels.
The new pedestrian walkway towers over Buena Vista Drive and is located near Team Disney and will give guests easier and safer access to the still-being-renovated Downtown Disney.
The bride was developed by Reedy Creek Improvement District, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Disney Springs Project team and is expected to be opened later this spring.

The Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration kicks off May 20- 21 with a special merchandise event featuring shopping, seminars, entertainment, and more.
Guests interested in attending the kick-off event can purchase the Diamond Package for $100. The package includes panel discussions, signings, entertainment, and other activities.
Those purchasing the Diamond Package will also receive: merchandise pick up and event store shopping, a silent auction, a trading area, and the chance to attend “Disneyland Dreamers & Doers” with Mouseketeers Bobby Burgess and Sherry Van Meter.

This weekend marks the return of Art in The Garden at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival.
The annual artist showcase is planned for March 27-29 in select areas throughout World Showcase.
Artists David Doss and Greg McCullough will be meeting guests at the World Showcase Promenade from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. each day of the event. David is releasing his new artwork featuring everyone’s favorite summer-lovin’ snowman Olaf.
Greg will be showcasing his work featuring that silly old bear Winnie the Pooh.
