Disney Donates $1 Million to American Red Cross for National Preparedness Month

September is National Preparedness Month, and Disney is recognizing the occasion with a new initiative with the American Red Cross. This month, Disney built upon its long relationship with the Red Cross by donating $1 million to the charity as part of their annual disaster giving program.

The $1 million donation will go toward supporting youth services, volunteer engagement programs and disaster services. Disney and Red Cross are teaming up to spread the word about preparing for emergencies and inform everyone about the three easy steps they can take to prepare: Get a kit. Make a plan. Be informed.

The Disney Friends for Change initiative is also getting involved with the cause as well. Take a look at this brand-new video featuring Disney Friends for Change Ambassador and Disney Channel star Debby Ryan and some Red Cross youth volunteers:
