Disney’s Blizzard Beach to Host Club Penguin Island Event on July 29

Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is set to host the Club Penguin Island Event on July 29.
The event – based on the popular mobile game – gives guests a chance to participate in Club Penguin-themed activities.
The activities include a penguin splash competition in the Ski Patrol area, coloring contests, a ‘snowball’ toss with water balloons, and more.
More details on the event will be announced later this month.

Marvel Creates Special Edition ‘Iron Man’ Comic Book for Hospital Care Packages

Marvel Custom Solutions creative team has created a special edition comic book for some very special kids.
The comic book – starring Iron Man and his foe Fin Fang Foom – was developed in conjunction with Child Life Council and will be given out in hospital care packages around the world. The care packages will also include Disney toys, DVDs, books, and Club Penguin memberships.
The custom comic book was created to inspire young patients and other children as they work to overcome health problems and other issues.

Disney Closing ‘Toontown’ and Other Virtual World Online Games

In a week that brought the highly-anticipated debut of Disney Infinity, the Walt Disney Company has announced that it is closing down the decade-old Toontown Online video game.
The online game will shut down on September 19, along with the Pirates of the Caribbean Online and Disney Fairies Pixie Hollow. Toontown is what’s known as a massively multiplayer online game (MMO) and cost players $9.95 a month to play.

Disney’s Club Penguin and Walt Disney Records have released the first-ever EP from the number one virtual world for kids. Featuring six tracks, including the title track, The Party Starts Now EP includes every Club Penguin single released throughout the years and a bonus track that’s never been released.

Beginning today, Disney’s Club Penguin kicks off its annual “Coins for Change” charity event, which allows players to convert their virtual coins into real-world cash to donate to needy charities.

Disney’s Club Penguin Launches Multi-Million Dollar Online Safety Campaign

Disney has announced a $4.7 million internet safety campaign revolving around it’s multi-player online game Club Penguin, which will target more than 100 million children and parents throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
This new safety campaign comes due to the fiasco with Club Penguin’s competitor Habbo Hotel, which has been accused of failing to ensure the safety of players after it was discovered that pedophiles were reportedly using the game to communicate with children.

Disney’s Club Penguin Traffic Soars Due to ‘Avengers’ Event

Disney’s Club Penguin, a hugely popular virtual world for kids, has seen record traffic numbers since the launch of their Avengers-themed event: Marvel Super Hero Takeover, which launched on June 14 and ends today.
Disney Interactive says that since the event, twenty million play sessions have been logged across 200 different countries on Club Penguin. The company also says that the Marvel event has helped double the site’s daily players.
