Details Announced for D23’s “Destination D: 75 Years of Disney Animated Features”

This week, D23 announced further details about this August’s event “Destination D: 75 Years of Disney Animated Features,” a two-day event that animation fans are sure to love. The event, which will be held August 11-12, 2012 at the Disneyland Hotel‘s Grand Ballroom, celebrates Disney animation from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs through the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph with special panels, presentations, and events.

Highlights of the event that attendees can expect include exclusive previews of upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios films, salutes to some of the great Disney animators and artists, a look at the influence of Disney animation on the Disney parks, a reunion of Disney animated voice talent, rare and never-before-seen artwork and film footage, a special salute to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and more. In addition, each day will end with very special performances: on Saturday, Disney Legend Dick Van Dyke and his a capella group The Vantastix will perform, and Sunday will end with a special performance by Alan Menken, who composed the music in such classic Disney films as Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.

For guests who want an even more exclusive experience, D23 will be offering a limited number of Diamond level tickets, which will be available for $1,000 each. In addition to admission for the two full days of Destination D on August 11-12, Diamond level ticket holders will be able to attend an additional exclusive third day of activities.
