Disney Announces “One More Disney Day,” Parks to Stay Open for 24 Hours on Leap Day

Happy New Year! Disney ushered in 2012 last night with a special announcement of what park guests can look forward to this February. To celebrate Leap Day 2012, Disney will hold “One More Disney Day” and keep the parks open for 24 hours straight.

From 6:00 AM on February 29, 2012 to 6:00 AM March 1, 2012, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland Park will be open for park guests to celebrate their extra Disney day. Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Tom Staggs says about the new announcement:

“We’re honored that so many guests have shared their Disney memories with us as part of ‘Let the Memories Begin’, and I’m pleased to announce that the campaign will continue throughout 2012. To celebrate, for the first time ever, the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Parks will remain open for 24 hours on Leap Day, so that our guests can take advantage of every minute of their extra day to make memories with friends and family.”

Disney has also marked the occasion with a special offer for both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. Guests who book a three night/three day room and ticket package at select Walt Disney World and Disneyland hotels can get one day and night free for stays between February 26-March 10, 2012. One consecutive night stay will be added to the hotel reservation and one park day will be added to the tickets for this limited offer. To take advantage of this special deal, packages must be booked by January 31, 2012.

In addition to these special offerings, Disney will also give more Disney fans the opportunity to make Disney park memories with the “Disney Parks One More Disney Day Sweepstakes.” From January 1-February 29, 2012, one sweepstakes entrant will be chosen each day to win a Disney Parks vacation for four at either Walt Disney World or Disneyland.
