Disney Community to Host 2011 Great American Pie Festival

Festivities from the 2010 Great American Pie Festival

Pie lovers and bakers will gather together April 9 and 10 for the Great American Pie Festival in Celebration, Florida.  A picturesque, master-planned community built by Disney just outside the maingate of Walt Disney World, Celebration will be the destination for the two day celebration of all things “pie,” which is sponsored by Crisco.

Connosieurs of the American treat will enjoy sweet offerings from the California Raisin Marketing Board, J. Horner’s Desserts, Bakers Square Restaurants, Rocky Mountain Pies, Bonert’s Slice of Pie, The Folger Coffee Company, Kroger’s Private Selection, Smucker’s Topping, Village Inn, Publix Super Markets, Inc. and Wick’s Pies. The Never-Ending Pie Buffet, which features ice cream and plenty of toppings, will also be available again this year!

Of course, adults aren’t the only ones who will be having fun. The Crisco Kids Creation Station will be set up for children to make their own pies, and plenty of other family-friendly activities will be offered as well. For those who want to see a baking demonstration, stop by the Pietopia Demonstration Stage, sponsored by Village Inn and Bakers Square Restaurants, for plenty of fun and chef demonstrations.

If you are interested in attending the festival, events will take place around Celebration’s Lakeside Park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 9, and from noon to 5 p.m. April 10. Admission is free, but the Never Ending Pie Buffet will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and seniors over 65.
