Johnny Depp in Talks for 'Alice in Wonderland' Sequel

While Johnny Depp's recent collaboration with Disney on The Lone Ranger wasn't quite the box office hit they had intended, it looks like the iconic actor will soon be joining forces with Disney once again. This week, it was revealed that Depp is currently finalizing a deal to appear in the upcoming sequel to Disney's live-action Alice in Wonderland.

Disney's first Alice in Wonderland film, directed by Tim Burton, was a huge box office success, bringing in over $1 billion in ticket sales. The sequel, however, will not be helmed by Burton once again. Rather, James Bobin, who directed The Muppets and is currently working on Muppets Most Wanted, will be stepping in as the film's director.

If his deal goes through, Depp will be returning in his role as the Mad Hatter. No other casting for the film is yet known.

Stay tuned for more news on this upcoming sequel.
