After opening in Walt Disney World and Disneyland last year, ‘Star Tours: The Adventures Continue’ will soon be arriving at Tokyo Disneyland. Coming just a few days after the monumental news that Disney has acquired Lucasfilm, Tokyo Disneyland has now announced that the updated Star Tours attraction will open at the park on May 7, 2013.
Tokyo Disneyland previously housed the original version of ‘Star Tours’, which closed in April 2012 to make way for the updated attraction. The updated attraction, which comes with a price tag of over $87 million, will be the first iteration of ‘Star Tours: The Adventures Continue’ to open in one of Disney’s international parks. ‘Star Tours: The Adventures Continue’ is a 3-D simulator ride that brings guests into some of their favorite settings from the Star Wars films and features some of the most beloved characters from the iconic franchise. The attraction provides a randomized selection of various scenes and characters, ensuring that guests will get a slightly different experience each time they ride the attraction.
The attraction’s opening will come as part of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 30th anniversary celebration. The Resort will begin celebrating “The Happiness Year” in April 2013.
