Disney Launches ‘Cricket Fever’  Multiplatform Game

Disney has launched a new cricket game that allows players to challenge their friends and families without the need for having a device that operates on the same platform.
DisneyUTV’s Cricket Fever Challenge is available on the iOS and Android systems, as well as online through Facebook. The multiplatform, multiplayer game allows players from all over the world to compete against each other and obtain high scores. Disney’s ‘Where’s My Water?’ App Gets ‘Frankenweenie’ Makeover

Disney’s Where’s My Water? mobile app recently celebrated its one year anniversary, and will be getting a Frankenweenie-inspired makeover just in time for the Halloween season.
Today, Disney released 10 new levels of gameplay for free, which feature spooky music, black & white coloring and a cameo from Sparky, the dog from the film who comes back to life. Additionally, players will be able to obtain icons and collectibles while they play.
The app is available for the iPad, iPod touch and iPhone as well as Android devices.

Disney Launches Disney Junior Android App

Disney announced the launch of their new Sprint Android-powered smartphone app Disney Junior ID today, which can help keep young children entertained with a variety of Disney Junior content accessible with the push of a button.
Kids ages 2 to 7 will enjoy the Disney Junior ID pack which will automatically download apps, widgets and wallpapers from popular Disney Junior shows and other related content. The pack includes:

Disney Interactive Labs Launches Video Site

Disney Interactive Labs recently announced the launch of a new video portal site where consumers can view clips, movie trailers and YouTube videos online or from any mobile device.
Disney Video will feature plenty of old and new Disney content, as well as a variety of content that won’t be found elsewhere.

Former Disney Consumer Products Chairman Joins Outfit7

Outfit7, the company behind Talking Friends, recently appointed former Disney Consumer Products chairman Andy Mooney to its advisory board.
Mooney’s accomplishments include reinventing the Disney stores, as well as creating new franchises and growing Disney’s publishing side to become the leader in children’s publishing.

Disney Acquires Gaming Startup Rocket Pack

Making good on its strategy to expand into apps and beyond (and away from games tethered to consoles), Disney has acquired Finnish gaming company Rocket Pack, reportedly for somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 to $20 million.
The acquisition positions Disney to develop apps and games using HTML5, which means that games would be playable across more handheld devices and web browsers.
Rocket Pack, which is little more than a year old, just released it’s first HTML5 game, Warimals, which pits dogs against cats in a battle for supremacy.  The company states that …
