The Walt Disney Company and Subway Restaurants Collaborate for Release of ‘Monsters University’ and ‘The Lone Ranger’

This summer Disney is once again collaborating with SUBWAY restaurants to celebrate the release of two highly-anticipated summer movies – Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University and Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ The Lone Ranger.
SUBWAY is the “Official Training Restaurant for Monsters Everywhere” and throughout the month of June monsters will be making cameo appearances in commercials for the restaurants, and all Fresh Fit For Kids meals will come in a Monsters University reusable backpack. The backpack comes with a code and a chance to win free tickets to see the movie.

‘Disney’s Planes’ from Disneytoon Studios Ready for Takeoff August 9

Disneytoon Studios is gearing up for the theatrical release of Disney’s Planes later this summer. The studio is one of three animation studios under the leadership of John Lasseter, along with Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Disney’s Planes tells the story of Dusty, a plane with dreams of racing and a fear of heights. Dane Cook provides the voice of Dusty as part of cast of all-stars including Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Teri Hatcher, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Cleese, and Cedric the Entertainer.

Monsters University Homecoming Bash Begins This Week at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

As part of the Limited Time Magic experience at Disney Parks this summer, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting ready to celebrate the upcoming theatrical release of Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University with the Monsters University Homecoming bash.

Start your engines and celebrate Father’s Day at the third annual Car Masters Weekend at Downtown Disney West Side.

‘Monsters University’ Soundtrack Features a Musical Score by Randy Newman

Randy Newman – the Oscar-, Grammy-, and Emmy-winning composer/songwriter – is making music again, this time for the upcoming Disney/Pixar release Monsters University. This film marks the seventh Disney/Pixar film that includes Newman’s music.
The movie takes place on a college campus, so Newman created an Alma Mater for MU called “Monsters University” which was performed by a team from Pixar Canada who sounded just like the giant crowd of monsters that sing the anthem in the film.

Disney and Netfilx Reach Agreement on Disney Junior and Disney XD Shows

After reaching an agreement with Disney/ABC Television, Netflix is set to begin offering popular shows from Disney Junior and Disney XD. This agreement makes Netflix the only subscription streaming service with rights to these programs.
The shows that will be offered by Netflix in the multiyear agreement include Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Handy Manny, Special Agent Oso, JoJo’s Circus, and the animated series Tron: Uprising.

Merida Set to Become an Official Disney Princess

Disney is adding one more princess to its royal roster. On May 11, Merida – the red headed princess from Disney/Pixar’s Brave – will celebrate her royal coronation at the Magic Kingdom.
Her official coronation ceremony is planned for 9:30 a.m. at Cinderella’s Castle. The current royal court of 10 official Disney Princesses is expected to attend. Guest visiting the Magic Kingdom that day are also welcome to witness the coronation.

Disney Announces ‘Monsters University’ Advance Screenings for College Students

This summer, audiences of all ages will be able to witness the college days of their favorite Monsters Inc. characters in Disney/Pixar’s upcoming film Monsters University. However, current college students in select cities across the country have the opportunity to see the film before its official debut, as Disney has announced a series of student-only preview screenings of the film.
Currently, Monsters University preview screenings have been announced for students in Washington DC; Cincinnati, OH; Ann Arbor, MI; Miami, FL; Houston, TX; and Boulder, CO. More cities may be announced soon, so …
