This fun video debuted on the Disney Parks Blog. The Disney team found 25,000 pieces of colored paper and a 10-foot wall to create their first stop-motion video for the blog — “Mickey Notes.”
This video promotes Disney’s “Give a Day. Get a Disney Day.” volunteer event, and the story unfolds through thousands of individual photos featuring Walt Disney World Cast Members moving sticky notes around by hand. Check it out!

MarVista and Disney Channel Team Up on Sixteen Wishes

MarVista Entertainment and Disney Channel have collaborated for the first time to produce a new Disney Channel telepic, Sixteen Wishes, which will premiere in the U.S. this summer and later on Disney Channels around the world. The film stars Disney Channel darlings Debby Ryan (The Suite Life on Deck) and Jean-Luc Bilodeau (Kyle XY).
Ryan plays Abby Jensen, who has been planning her 16th birthday for the longest time. She has a secret wish list taped to her closet door, and on her big day a box of Sweet Sixteen …

Comic-Con in Disneyland?

The San Diego Tribune is reporting that not only will the world-famous conference, Comic-Con, soon run out its contract with San Diego (2012), but it will receive a bid to move the conference to Disneyland’s hometown, Anaheim, CA!

Pixar Dinosaur Flick: Possible Short Film “Night and Day”

UPDATE: Pixar’s Night and Day is now available for purchase on iTunes!
/Film had an anonymous source last night confirm that some leaked concept art photos are from a new Pixar short film, “Night and Day.” Rumor is that it might be coupled with the release of Toy Story 3.
Lead on the “Night and Day” short film is Teddy Newton, a storyboard artist on The Iron Giant and Character Designer for The Incredibles and Presto. This would be his Pixar directorial debut.

Disney Dooney and Bourke Event

Disney World is touting a special event for their trendiest fans!
To celebrate the opening of Tren-D, a new shop in Downtown Disney Marketplace, Dooney & Bourke’s Ian Ray will be at a special event at the store on Friday, February 26, 2010, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Ian will be handing out a complimentary Dooney & Bourke gift to guests who purchase $150 or more of the Dooney & Bourke co-branded products.

Solar Power Coming to Disneyland Paris

The Independent reports that Energy company EDF is in the first stages of plans to construct France’s largest solar-power plant right on the grounds of Disneyland Paris. Solar panels would cover massive canopies shading Disneyland Paris’ 11,000-space parking lot — one of the biggest in Europe. These structures could also collect rainwater to reduce the theme park’s water consumption.
This news comes on top of an already energy-conscious Disneyland Paris initiative: the theme park has an agreement with EDF to “buy 15 per cent of its electricity from renewable energy …

“Captain EO” Returns to Disneyland Tueday, February 23rd

The date has finally been released for Michael Jackson’s “Captain EO” to return to Disneyland. Given the nostalgia after the star’s death, Disney has decided to present a limited engagement of the movie. The movie will begin showing at Disneyland on February 23rd.
According to the LA Times:

Black Pearl Arrives in Hawaii

The famous Pirates of the Caribbean ship has docked in Oahu’s Kalaeloa Harbor early Sunday morning. The ship has arrived as a prop to be used in filming the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film this year. The fourth installment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series, “On Stranger Tides” is set to start filming this summer on Oahu and Kauai. It’s expected to steer millions of dollars into the state’s economy.

Main Street Electrical Parade to Appear in Disney World During Summer Nightastic

A beloved parade will be returning to Disney World this summer. During a “Summer Nightastic,” Disney World will be bringing back the popular parade.
The Main Street Electrical Parade was a long running and very popular parade from Disneyland. It ran during many summers from 1972 to 1996. It features performers and floats all cloaked in thousands of electronic lights. Fans who may not have a chance to see the original can look forward to seeing the performance this summer!
