‘Peter and the Starcatcher’ to Begin Broadway Run in March

We let you know a few months ago that the wonderful new play Peter and the Starcatcher, which made its off-Broadway debut last spring, would be premiering on Broadway this spring. This week, it was announced that the show will officially begin performances at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre this March.

Full Cast Announced for Broadway Run of ‘Newsies’

We’re just a few short months from the Broadway opening of Newsies, and recently, Disney Theatrical Productions announced the full cast of talented performers that will be seen in the show. Many of the cast will be reprising their roles, after originally performing them in the show’s premiere at the Paper Mill Playhouse last fall.

Disney Announces HGTV Stars, Flower Power Concert Schedule for 2012 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

Walt Disney World’s Epcot is gearing up for its annual International Flower and Garden Festival this spring, and more details are being announced for those who will be at the park to enjoy the festivities. The festival, which runs this year from March 7-May 20, 2012, includes elaborate character topiaries, activities and demonstrations, unique gardens that highlight different countries in World Showcase, and more.

Disney’s ‘Frozen’ to be Computer Animated

A few weeks ago, we brought you the news that Disney’s Frozen, which was formerly known as The Snow Queen, was given an official release date in theaters. This week, a little more information was given about the new film, as it was announced that the film will be done with computer animation.

Ricky Strauss Named As Head of Walt Disney Studios Marketing

This week, Disney announced that Ricky Strauss has been named as Walt Disney Studios’ head of worldwide marketing. He will replace MT Carney in the position, who departed the company earlier this week.
Unlike Carney, who many criticized for her lack of movie marketing experience, Strauss comes to the role with 25 years of experience in the film industry. Most recently, Strauss was President of Participant Media, who produced such films as The Help, Contagion, and The Kite Runner. Prior to that, Strauss worked at Sony Pictures for 16 years as …

Jeremy Jordan to Star in Disney’s ‘Newsies’ on Broadway

This week, Disney and Broadway fans excited for the upcoming Broadway debut of Disney’s Newsies received some exciting news. It was announced that Jeremy Jordan, the show’s star during its run at the Paper Mill Playhouse, will be returning to the show for its Broadway run. Disney Fantasy Performs ‘Float Out’ as Construction Continues

Disney Cruise Line’s latest ship, the Disney Fantasy, celebrated a major milestone in the vessel’s construction Sunday, as the ship underwent its test “float out” in the harbor of shipyard.
Thousands of onlookers watched from shore as Disney’s cruise ship, which is scheduled to make its maiden voyage this spring, made its way out of the enclosed assembly building for the first time, as fireworks were launched overhead.

Disneyland Chef Honored for 55 Years of Service

From its first years of operation in the 1950’s through the present, Disneyland Park has undergone many changes, and one man has been there to witness them all. This week, Disneyland chef Oscar Martinez celebrated his 55th anniversary of working at Disneyland, a milestone that no other Disney park employee has reached. He is one of only six Walt Disney Company employees who have worked at the company for 55 years.
