Dr. Doofenshmirtz to Appear on ABC’s ‘Shark Tank’

The Sharks might have met their match. Next month’s season finale of ABC’s Shark Tank will feature everyone’s favorite evil inventor, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz from Disney Channel’s Phineas and Ferb.
Fans of Phineas and Ferb are familiar with Doofenshmirtz’s “inator” inventions – he builds at least one per episode as part of his ongoing plan to take over the tri-state area. And inevitably, his inventions always fail through self-destruction of some sort.

Nationwide Search Launched for the Winnie the Pooh Storyteller of the Year

Disney Consumer Products recently launched a nationwide search for the Winnie the Pooh “Storyteller of the Year.” The contest celebrates teaching children creativity and life lessons through storytelling.
“Pooh teaches us about friendship, adventure, and to appreciate the simple things in life,” said Stephen Teglas, vice president of classic franchises for Disney Consumer Products. “Through the ‘Storyteller of the Year’ contest we hope to capture some of these sweet family moments and encourage parents to use their best storytelling abilities to spark their child’s imagination and create long-lasting memories.”

Mystic Point Opening at Hong Kong Disneyland in May

Hong Kong Disneyland’s expansion project concludes next month with the opening of Mystic Point, a new area that includes a new ride – Mystic Manor – in addition to a themed photo area called Garden of Wonders, and a new restaurant.
Mystic Manor is the centerpiece of Mystic Point and takes guests on an adventure courtesy of Lord Henry Mystic, an explorer and art collector. Disney XD’s ‘Crash & Bernstein’ Renewed for a Second Season

This week, Disney XD announced that its popular series Crash & Bernstein will be renewed for a second season. Production on the second season will begin in Van Nuys, CA this July, with the season premiere set for this fall.

Disney’s Wilderness Preserve Celebrates 20 Years of Conservation

Just south of the Walt Disney World Resort is the Disney Wilderness Preserve, a 12,000 acre nature preserve – and it’s celebrating its 20th anniversary this week.
This nature preserve was created in the early 1990s after The Walt Disney Company donated the land to The Nature Conservancy, in part to offset lands impacted by the development of the Walt Disney World Resort. This approach to conservation of an ecosystem was, at the time, a unique collaboration between government, business, and conservation organizations.

Limited Time Magic Merchandise for Animal Kingdom’s 15th Anniversary

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the Animal Kingdom and as part of the celebration Walt Disney World is releasing some commemorative merchandise, some of which will include the 15th anniversary logo that was created by Disney Design Group artists Michael Posluszny and Maria Clapsis.

Disney Channel to Bring Back Game Show ‘Win, Lose, or Draw’

Disney Channel will soon see the game show genre return to its lineup, as it was announced this week that the channel will debut a revised version of popular 1980’s game show Win, Lose, or Draw. Hosted by Cupcake Wars‘ Justin Willman, the new show will begin production in July and make its television debut later this year.

First Poster Released for ‘Thor: The Dark World’

We’ve been hearing a lot lately about Marvel’s Iron Man 3, but this week brought us a new update on the company’s other upcoming sequel, Thor: The Dark World. Marvel and Disney released the film’s first poster this week, which features Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, and his legendary hammer Mjölnir.
Thor: The Dark World will reunite Thor and Loki, as well as many other characters from the original Thor film, as they battle the villainous Malekith (Christopher Eccleston). Directing the film will be frequent Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor.

New ‘Star Wars’ Films to be Released Annually Beginning in 2015

Star Wars fans all around the world have been eagerly anticipating the return of the franchise since Disney’s announcement that a new film was in the works last fall. This week, however, it was revealed that while fans have to wait until 2015 for Star Wars: Episode VII, the wait for new films following its debut will be much shorter, as new Star Wars films are set to be released annually starting in 2015.

‘Tomorrowland’ With George Clooney Casts Lead Actress

This week brought a new update on Disney’s Tomorrowland, an upcoming film directed by Brad Bird whose development has been largely shrouded in mystery. It was announced that the young actress Raffey Cassidy has been cast in the film, where she will star opposite George Clooney.
