Star Sighting: Rebecca Romijn Visits the Magic Kingdom

On Friday, star Rebecca Romijn and husband Jerry O’Connell celebrated their twin daughters’ birthdays at “The Happiest Place on Earth.”
While visiting the Magic Kingdom, Romijn and O’Connell enjoyed a fun-filled birthday adventure with their daughters, 4, who were able to meet Cinderella and pose for photos in front of the famed castle. In the photo, you can see Rebecca channeled the spirit of Disney and donned a pair of Mickey Mouse ears for the occasion.

‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ Headed to Blu-Ray

Early next year, beloved Disney classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit? will get a special Blu-ray release.
The 25th Anniversary Edition of the film will include a host of extras that are not available on the DVD version, including digitally restored versions of the “Roger Rabbit Shorts” as well as exclusive featurettes. The film will be available March 12 and include both a DVD and Blu-ray version.
In addition to Roger Rabbit, several other Disney films are being re-released on Blu-ray. Mulan, the 1998 film, will see a special re-release that also includes the direct-to-video sequel Mulan II. The Hunchback of …

Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Close Temporarily

Sources have announced that the popular Kali River Rapids attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closed temporarily beginning January 6.
The ride, which was introduced at the park in 1999, allows a group of riders to embark on a “perilous” river rafting adventure, where passengers must battle a raging river until they reach their final destination.
While officials haven’t announced specific reasons for the closure, sources have said that the ride will be undergoing some cosmetic improvements and refurbishments. If more information becomes available, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Disney Makes Donation to Toys for Tots for the Holidays, Ends 2012 With More Than $292 Million in Donations

A few weeks ago, we let you know about how Disney and its wonderful VoluntEARS donated both toys and their time to the charity Toys for Tots this holiday season. In addition to this generous donation, Disney also announced recently that the company donated $150,000 to the US Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Foundation.
Of the $150,000 that was donated to the organization, which collects new toys and distributes them to less than fortunate children, $100,000 was specifically allocated to help children that were affected by Hurricane Sandy. In addition …

2013 Rose Bowl Teams Stanford Cardinal and Wisconsin Badgers Visit Disneyland

On New Year’s Day, the Wisconsin Badgers and Stanford Cardinal football teams will go head-to-head in the annual Rose Bowl game. However, before the teams face off on the field, they recently had the chance to celebrate their special achievement with a visit to Disneyland.

First ‘Limited Time Magic’ Events Announced for Walt Disney World and Disneyland

Disney Parks to Make New Announcement During ABC’s New Year’s Eve Broadcast

If you were watching the Disney Parks Christmas Parade earlier this week, you may have heard co-host Maria Menounos mention a new announcement that will be coming this New Year’s Eve. This Monday night, Menounos  will be making a brand new Disney Parks announcement during ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2013.

In 2009, a $15 million lawsuit was filed against Walt Disney World by a woman who alleged her daughter suffered permanent brain damage after riding the Tower of Terror. Now, sources have reported that the lawsuit was voluntarily dropped.
Leanne Deacon initially filed the lawsuit claiming her daughter collapsed after riding the attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. After her harrowing experience, Deacon filed a suit against the media giant for $15 million, saying that was how much it would cost to care for her daughter for the rest of her life. …

Walt Disney World Resort Reducing Annual Passholder Discounts

On January 1, Walt Disney World Resort will cut the shopping discounts offered to visitors who purchase premium annual passes, which can cost upwards of $700 each.
Previously, the discount offered 20 percent off merchandise purchases. Come the new year, the resort will slash those discounts in half to 10 percent. Spokesman Bryan Malenius declined to offer comment on why the resort has decided to cut back on the discount, but did say that “[Walt Disney World] regularly evaluates our discounts and offers for annual pass holders and make adjustments.”
