Party for the Plant this Weekend at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

This weekend Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating the Party for the Planet, April 21 through April 23.
Guests visiting the park this weekend can pick up a Party for the Planet times guide to help them plan their day.  Guests can also choose one of 10 animal cut-outs to use while taking photos throughout the park.
There will be an activity along the Maharaja Jungle Trek focused on snow leopards, and guests can get a free activity packet based on the new Disneynature film Born in China.

Disneynature’s ‘Born in China’ Coming to Theater on Earth Day 2017

The latest film from Disneynature, Born in China, is slated to arrive in theaters on Earth Day 2017.
The film is narrated by John Krasinski and showcases the “wilds of China.”
Born in China follows three animal families – a giant panda mother and her baby, a 2-year-old  golden monkey, and a mother snow leopard who is raising her cubs in a harsh environment.
The film was directed by Chinese filmmaker Lu Chuan and was produced by Roy Conli and filmmakers Brian Leith and Phil Chapman.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Celebrating Earth Day with the Party for the Planet

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating Earth Day 2015 with the Party for the Planet on April 22.
The party includes two special research stations – one at Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the other at the main entrance to the Animal Kingdom.
These research stations will give guests a chance to experience behind-the-scenes footage from Disneynature’s Monkey Kingdom in addition to exploring how technology is used in conservation efforts.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival Celebrates Earth Day

The Earth Day celebration at the Walt Disney World Resort kicks off April 17 and runs through April 22 at Epcot.
At Epcot the 2015 Flower and Garden Festival is still in full bloom and three of the specialty gardens were created to help kids and families connect with nature.
Those gardens are the Nature Rocks Garden presented by The Nature Conservancy, the Backyard Habitat presented by the National Wildlife Federation, and the Purple Martins presented by Audubon Florida.

Disneynature’s ‘Monkey Kingdom’ Headed to Theaters in April 2015

The newest full-length film from Disneynature premieres in theaters on April 17, 2015.
Monkey Kingdom tells the story of Maya, a blonde-bobbed monkey, her son Kip, and their extended monkey family in the jungles of South Asia.
The film follows Maya and her family as they are forced to relocate and find a new home when their home at Castle Rock is overrun by another group of neighboring monkeys. Maya and her family must work together to reclaim their home at Castle Rock.

Disneynature’s ‘Bears’ Roars Into Theaters Just in Time for Earth Day 2014

The latest Disneynature film, Bears, is now open in theaters nationwide just in time for Tuesday’s Earth Day celebration.
The film follows in the cinematic footsteps of other Disneynature films including Oceans, African Cats, and Chimpanzee.
Bears is narrated by John C. Reilly (Wreck-It-Ralph) and follows a bear family for one year as two young cubs (Scout and Amber) learn how to survive in the rugged wilderness of Alaska with their mother, Sky.
The film is co-directed by Keith Scholey, a British zoologist and wildlife photographer who also co-directed African Cats for Disneynature.

Disneynature Explore App Allows Users to Explore Nature and the World of Animals

Disney’s latest app allows kids and their families to explore nature through augmented reality and animal behavior game play.
The app – Disneynature Explore – is available in the Apple App Store and was launched as part of the celebration of Earth Month. The app was made possible by Disney Citizenship.
Disneynature Explore uses a combination of augmented reality and game play to encourage families to discover and play in nature. Five animals are featured on the app – monarch butterfly, brown bear, chimpanzee, African lion, and loggerhead sea turtle.

After a huge year at the box office in 2013, Walt Disney Studios has just announced the release dates for its 2014 movie slate.
Starting out the year on February 28 is The Wind Rises from Touchstone Pictures. The movies stars the voice talents of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emily Blunt, Martin Short, John Krasinski, Jennifer Grey, Stanley Tucci, and more.

‘Wings of Life’ from Disneynature Debuts

In conjunction with Earth Month and the celebration of Earth Day on April 22, Disneynature has released its newest film Wings of Life on Blu-ray, Digital, and On Demand.
The film gives viewers a close up look at the life of butterflies, hummingbirds, and bats and the valuable contributions they make to plant life through pollination. Academy Award winner Meryl Streep narrates the film which is directed by Louie Schwartzberg.

Disneynature to Release New Film ‘Bears’ in 2014

Following the success of such previous projects as Chimpanzee, African Cats, and Oceans, Disneynature has now announced the subject of their newest film: Bears. Disneynature is currently in production on the upcoming film Bears, which is slated for release in 2014.
