The Land Down Under may be getting much, much closer to Central Florida.
WESH 2 News in Orlando is reporting that Walt Disney World may be expanding yet another one of its theme parks – Animal Kingdom – and that the new land will be themed after the continent of Australia.
While Disney has not confirmed the rumors, the expansion would certainly complement the current continents represented at Animal Kingdom, Africa and Asia, without competing with any of the World Showcase offerings.
Disney is busy with expansion on all fronts. Construction continues at …

Prior to 2009, guests to the park traveled through more than 30,000 lights that were formed into arches leading from Futureworld into World Showcase. The lights were synchronized with music, as was the nearby Fountain of Nations.
But last year, citing aging technology, Disney announced that the arches would no longer be part of the holiday display.

Critics say that combining the attendance totals is …

Just days after its release, “Tangled” has carved out its place in the record books.
Disney’s fiftieth animated feature has opened with the highest Thanksgiving holiday opening ever, after a respectable opening day total of $11.5 million. Expected to make $65 million over the course of the five-day holiday weekend, “Tangled” is on track to beat out another Disney classic that previously held the record for Thanksgiving: “Toy Story 2.” While the totals weren’t enough to best the blockbuster “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1,” it is clear …
