Typhoon Lagoon Hosting Summertime Dance Party Inspired by Disney Channel’s ‘Teen Beach Movie’

As part of the ongoing Limited Time Magic at Disney Parks this summer, Typhoon Lagoon is set to host a groovy dance party inspired by the Disney Channel Original Movie Teen Beach Movie. The dance party started June 24 and happens every day until September 1.
The dance party is scheduled to happen throughout each day this summer and includes a DJ spinning remixes of retro songs, beach-themed games, and some “bikers” and “surfers” to party with guests. The party – which will take place on part of the main beach …

Stage 1 at Disney World Studios Dedicated to Annette Funicello

On Monday, amid friends, fans, and former Mouseketeers, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger officially renamed Stage 1 on the Disney World Studios lot as the Annette Funicello Stage. Funicello passed away on April 8, 2013 after fighting with multiple sclerosis for more than two and a half decades. But Funicello’s legacy lives on in her films, albums, and her place as an official Disney Legacy, an honor she received in 1992, in addition to the recent posthumous renaming of Stage 1.

Robert Downey Jr. Will Return as Iron Man in the Next Two ‘Avengers’ Films

Fans of Marvel’s The Avengers who didn’t want to imagine anyone other than Robert Downey Jr. playing the role of Iron Man can stop worrying. Marvel Studios announced last week that RDJ will be returning to the iconic role of billionaire superhero Tony Stark/Iron Man for the next two films in the Avengers series.

‘Monsters University’ Opens at the Top of the Box Office Taking in $82 Million during Debut Weekend

Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University graduated at the top of its class, earning an $82 million during its debut weekend in theaters.
This marks the 14th number one opening weekend for Pixar at the box office. The Disney-owned studio has only released 14 films, which means every film released by Pixar has opened in first place.
Monsters University was playing in 4,004 theaters in the U.S. during its debut weekend and the $82 million box office makes it the second biggest opening for Pixar, just behind Toy Story 3 which earned $110.3 million in …

Disney Dining Plan Price Increase Announced

If you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation and are thinking of purchasing the Disney Dining Plan, listen up! Disney has increased the price of the Deluxe, Standard, and Quick Service Dining Plans for all “rack rate” bookings made on or after June 17.

New Character Posters Released for ‘Disney’s Planes’

We recently told you about Disney’s Planes, the new animated film from Disneytoon Studios. The film tells the story of Dusty, a plane with dreams of racing and a fear of heights.
Dane Cook provides the voice of Dusty as part of cast of all-stars including Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Teri Hatcher, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Cleese, and Cedric the Entertainer.

‘Girl Meets World’ Officially Picked Up By Disney Channel

First Teaser Trailer Released for Disney’s ‘Frozen’

We’ve been anxiously waiting to hear more about Disney’s upcoming animated film Frozen, and this week brought the release of the movie’s first teaser trailer.
Loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s tale The Snow Queen, Disney’s Frozen will tell the story of a girl named Anna’s journey to find her sister Elsa and end the icy spell that Elsa has put on their kingdom. Helena Bonham Carter Cast as Fairy Godmother in Disney’s ‘Cinderella’

More casting news was released this week for Disney’s upcoming live-action film adaptation of Cinderella, as it was announced that Helena Bonham Carter has been cast in the film. Bonham Carter will be playing the Fairy Godmother who enables Cinderella, played by Lily James, to go to the ball.
