Royalty Shall Abound Aboard the ‘Disney Dream’

Getting closer to its maiden voyage on January 26, 2011 construction on the ‘Disney Dream’ cruise ship is progressing and the latest project featured on the Disney Parks Blog is sure to awaken even the sleepiest beauty. Magic Unites, Disney Parks Partner with the Orlando Magic

Orlando’s new “Amway Center” is set to open in October with the stars in blue & white, the “Orlando Magic,” ready to showcase stellar basketball moves on the new court. Partnering with their magical neighbors in a multi-year agreement, Disney will have naming rights to the Center’s Atrium, the basketball franchise will work with Disney on co-branded merchandise, and they’ll establish community outreach projects together.

Disney Interactive Media President Steve Wadsworth Resigns

The LA Times is reporting that Steve Wadsworth, the president of Disney Interactive Media is leaving the company. Disney has made quite a foray into the gaming community, but while their footprint has grown, profits have not necessarily followed.
In its most recent quarter, the group had an operating loss of $65 million on revenue of less than $200 million in revenue. This shows both Disney’s commitment to the space as well as the difficulty it is having in gaining a strong presence. From the article:

Recent Survey Reveals the Anatomy of Memorable Vacations; Walt Disney World & Disneyland Take Note

Disney Parks just announced the theme for their new celebration starting in January 2011, “Let the Memories Begin.” What makes vacation memories so special & how do families make those memories? A recent survey conducted by Ypartnership, a travel service marketing firm headquartered in Orlando, Florida reveals some answers.

Disney to Honor Family Vacation Memories with New Promotion

In the past Disney Park promotions have included random dream granting & family stays in luxurious themed suites, honoring birthdays with a free day in the parks, and rewarding volunteerism. Starting in January, Disney plans to pay homage to its guests by featuring family vacation memories in several different ways. Spooky Halloween Fun at the Disneyland Resort

Starting earlier this week the Disneyland Resort has undergone a spooky makeover!
