Disney’s ‘The Avengers’ to be Released in 3D

While previously announced to be released only in 2D, Walt Disney Studios said last week that The Avengers will also be released in 3D when the movie debuts May 4, 2012.
The Avengers has a star-studded cast, including Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Tom Hiddleston as villain Loki, who is Thor’s half brother.

Celebrate the New Year with Exclusive Disney Merchandise

There are several new items coming to Disney Parks this year, which will allow visitors to ring in the New Year in style. One of the items is the clock-inspired Disney Eat Hat, designed by Mark Seppala, who says that Alice in Wonderland partially inspired him to create this new ear hat.
Additionally, the clock theme carries over into the Disney Pins, with a new pin featuring Tinkerbell. Two additional Disney Pins will also be released at Disneyland and Walt Disney World to help commemorate the New Year.

Demi Lovato Lashes Out at Disney Over Eating Disorder Joke

We all know how open former Disney darling Demi Lovato has been about her struggle with emotional and physical issues, and now Lovato is slamming Disney for an offensive joke about eating disorders made on Disney’s show Shake it Up.
One of the characters quipped, “I could just eat you up, well, if I ate,” and Lovato took to her Twitter account to express her anger with Disney for allowing this type of joke to be aired.

Seth Rogen to Produce Disney’s ‘The B Team’

Comedian Seth Rogen, best known for his work in such films as Knocked Up and 50/50, has signed on as a producer of the upcoming Walt Disney Studios film The B Team. The film, which has been in development at Disney since 2008, centers on a top secret agent, whose research and tech support team are charged with the task of rescuing him when he gets kidnapped.

Video: Cars Land Attractions ‘Luigi’s Flying Tires’ and ‘Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree’ Begin Testing

The Disneyland Resort is preparing for the opening of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure in a few months, and the land’s new attractions are beginning to take shape. The new land will feature three brand new attractions: Radiatior Springs Racers, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, and Luigi’s Flying Tires. Disney Announces ‘Frozen’ to be Released November 27, 2013

A few months ago, we brought you the news that Pixar Animation Studios will release a new film about dinosaurs, then set to debut November 27, 2013. This week, Disney announced that this release date will instead be occupied by Frozen, a feature length animated film to be produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Adding More Food and Entertainment Options for Holiday Crowds

In anticipation of the larger crowds during the holiday season, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is adding more dining and entertainment options in the hopes to prevent lines from growing too large for holiday visitors.
Several hot dog carts, as well as two of the food kiosks from the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, have been installed at the park to create more dining space for visitors. Walt Disney World Resort Donates Playground to Local Children

Thanks to a generous donation from The Walt Disney World Resort, the Welbourne Avenue Nursery and Kindergarten in Winter Park has a new Imagination Playground children can use to encourage creativity.
Using giant foam-like blocks, children can piece these blocks together to create anything their imaginations can dream up. The Imagination Playgrounds are a part of the KaBOOM! organization’s Building Playgrounds initiative, which fosters creativity and character-building skills.

Celebrate Three Kings Day at Disneyland Resort

The holiday season doesn’t end in December at Disneyland Resort, but instead continues until January with the celebration of Three Kings Day – also known as Día de los Reyes Magos.
This special event will be held January 6 through 8 at Disneyland Park, and will be the first time the park has celebrated this Latin American tradition. The holiday tradition is supposed to commemorate the journey the three wise men took to Bethlehem.
