Disney Acquires Film Rights to Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Graveyard Book’

Disney recently announced that they’ve acquired the film rights to author Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book, a 2008 novel that has won several literary awards since its publication.
The novel has been shopped to various studios the past several several years, but hasn’t gone anywhere. Now, Disney will have a shot at adapting the popular novel for the big screen.

Walt Disney World to Test New Fastpass System

Walt Disney World will begin testing their new Fastpass system beginning May 1 at the Magic Kingdom. Currently, Disney’s Fastpass system allows guests to obtain free tickets for various attractions with a time printed on each ticket when guests can return to the shorter Fastpass line. With the new system, Disney wants to allow guests to book Fastpass tickets at home and have them ready when they get to the park.

‘The Avengers’ Grosses $178.4 Million in International Debut, Breaks Box Office Records

While Marvel’s newest film The Avengers doesn’t open in the United States for another few days, the film is already making a huge splash overseas. Having already opened in 39 countries worldwide, the film has taken in $178.4 million overseas so far, breaking numerous box office records in countries across the globe.

New Concept Art Released for Reimagined Test Track Attraction

Just a few weeks ago, Epcot’s Test Track attraction closed its doors to undergo a major renovation. This week, the Disney Parks Blog gave us a better look at what we can expect from the attraction once it reopens, thanks to some recently released concept art for the reimagined experience.

Opening Timeframes Announced for Fantasyland Expansion

With the first phase of the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland Expansion opening just over a month ago, fans have been eagerly waiting to see when the next phases of the expansion will open to  Walt Disney World guests. ‘Phineas and Ferb’ VIPs Get Sneak Peek of Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure

Later this summer, Epcot’s World Showcase will be getting the new addition of “Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure,” a new game based on the hit show Phineas and Ferb. While the attraction is currently completely closed to the public, some of the Phineas and Ferb cast and crew recently got a sneak peek at the new experience.

Pixar Announces New Film From ‘Toy Story 3’ Director, Reveals Details About Upcoming Films

At this week’s CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas, Pixar announced some interesting new details about their upcoming films. Following the announcement of two brand-new Pixar films at the D23 Expo last summer, this week’s presentation brought us a little closer to finding out just what these new films are all about.

Disney Publishing Worldwide Moves Employees to California

Disney Publishing Worldwide moved the majority of their employees to White Plains, NY just shy of 5 years ago, and now they will be embarking on another move – transferring over 100 employees to Glendale, CA.
The employees transferring to Glendale will be located close to Disney’s headquarters, as well as Disney Consumer Products and Disney Interactive. The employees transferring to CA are mostly upper management positions as well as employees from the digital, content creation, global magazines and licensing units.

Demi Lovato Kicks Off Summer Tour in June

Former Disney star Demi Lovato will be kicking off her summer tour in June, starting in California and making 21 stops around the United States as well as one stop in Canada. The tour will run the entire summer and culminate September 1. Hot Chelle Rae and Owl City are expected to be Lovato’s opening acts.
