Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend Merchandise Inspired by Pixar Films and Characters

The Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend kicks off August 31 at the Disneyland Resort and this year’s commemorative merchandise is inspired by Pixar films and characters.
Characters featured on the merchandise include those from Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and The Incredibles.
The commemorative merchandise includes the popular ‘I Did It’ T-shirts, pins, car magnets, Tervis drinkware, and a Pixar-themed runDisney medal holders. Other items include apparel, hats, and more.

Disney Launches ‘Toy Story: Smash It!’ Mobile Game

Continuing their tradition of producing popular mobile games, Disney Mobile has recently launched another title to their roster: Toy Story: Smash It! 
Based on the popular film franchise, the 3D puzzle game immerses players into the magical world of toys and lets them play as Buzz Lightyear. There will also be encounters with other familiar faces from the movies, including Woody, Jessie, Hamm and Rez. With four episodes and 60 levels of play, the game will culminate with an epic battle against the evil Zurg.

Disney Cruise Line to Offer Pixar-Themed Cruises this Fall

This fall, Disney Cruise Line will be offering Pixar-inspired cruises during their seven-night California Coastal voyages.
All Disney Wonder passengers will be able to enjoy a variety of themed activities revolving around beloved characters from the Pixar universe. Both children and adults alike will be able to enjoy this interactive, immersive experience. Activities will include:

Buzz Lightyear Action Figure Donated to Smithsonian

In 2008, one special Buzz Lightyear action figure was actually able to travel “to infinity and beyond” aboard the space shuttle Discovery. For a record-setting 15 months, Buzz Lightyear orbited the Earth in the International Space Station as a teaching tool to get children excited about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Now, visitors from all over the world will be able to see this special Buzz Lightyear toy in person, as the figure was donated to the Smithsonian last week.

Sneak Peek: New ‘Toy Story’ Short ‘Small Fry’

When The Muppets officially debuts in theaters on November 23, it will not only mark the return of our favorite Muppet characters to the big screen, but our favorite Toy Story characters as well. John Lasseter Does Not Deny Possibility of ‘Toy Story 4’ in BBC Interview

Early Monday morning, Disney Animation bigwig (and Cars 2 director) John Lasseter found himself in a predictable hotseat:  answering questions about a fourth installment to the Disney Pixar Toy Story franchise.
While sitting down with the BBC to discuss Cars 2, which opens this Friday in the UK, the conversation eventually came around to Tom Hanks’ remarks about the fact that creation of Toy Story 4 is underway.  Lasseter had this to say about Hanks’ comments:

“I found that very interesting too.  Yeah, it was really interesting! Well, we haven’t announced anything yet.”

‘Toy Story 3’ Director Auctions Pixar Collectibles to Help Japanese Earthquake Relief

Lee Unkrich, director of Toy Story 3 has put up a number of Pixar collectibles on eBay to help with the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. The items up for auction are quite varied, but are all Pixar-related memorabilia he has collected over the years.
One particular piece, such as this limited edition print from Disney/Pixar’s Up, is currently up for auction. The print, which was given to Pixar employees after the film was made, only had 1200 copies ever created. This particular print is from Unkrich’s own personal collection.

LEGO Imagination Center Reopens in Downtown Disney

Much to the delight of fans everywhere, the LEGO Imagination Center at Downtown Disney reopened last week – and there are many renovations to check out!
Before you even enter the store, you’ll notice huge LEGO statues flanking the perimeter. Brickley, the sea serpent, still remains standing guard in the nearby lake, while the popular LEGO family walking its dogs remain as well. Additionally, visitors can now take photographs with Maleficent in dragon form, as well as Buzz Lightyear and Woody; Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and even Bambi and Thumper!

Disney ‘Jungle Cruise’ Film Gains Interest of Tim Allen and Tom Hanks

According to Variety, Disney’s latest foray into transforming theme park rides to box office gold may have just gotten a major shot in the arm, as Tim Allen has expressed interest in the “Jungle Cruise” film project.

Buzz Lightyear Heads to Infinity and Beyond in the UK

Buzz Lightyear is certainly living up to his favorite catchphrase:  Disney has announced that Buzz is officially their top-selling toy of all time in the UK.
More than one million of the 12-inch movable, plastic toys have been sold since the figure launched 15 years ago, in tandem with the release of the original “Toy Story” film.  Disney forecasts an additional 50,000 units will sell this year in advance of the Christmas holiday.
